Boy Scout corrects Lodi City Council on flag display
Lodi City Councilman Larry Hansen said a Boy Scout recently told
him that the city was in violation of flag protocol because the
city of Lodi flag, right, was flying higher than the American flag
in Carnegie Forum. At the council meeting Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012,
Hansen asked city staff to fix the problem.

Boy Scout tells Lodi council it is flying the American flag wrong

At tonight's Lodi City Council meeting, Councilman Larry Hansen
shared a concern that a local Boy Scout had told him at a previous
meeting.
The Boy Scout pointed out that the city was not following flag
protocal because the city flag was higher than the American flag in
Carnegie Forum where council meetings are held. Hansen asked city
staff to fix the flag poles, so the American flag is flying
higher.
Councilman Bob Johnson agreed with the Boy Scouts
assessment.
"I haven't been a Boy Scout for years but the (city) flag should
not be higher," he said.
Johnson also suggested the city put both the city and state flag
on the right side of Carnegie Forum and the American flag alone on
the left side.
