How are you celebrating the end of the world?
Anyone who has turned on cable news recently has heard a variety
of scenarios for the upcoming Rapture that will start May 21.
We even wrote a story about it back in
April when billboards started popping up around town announcing
that it is coming.
My Twitter and Facebook feeds have been filled with references,
and comedians/news outlets are having field days talking about the
correct way to observe the end of the world.
So here is what I will be doing. Sports reporter Joelle Milholm
and I plan to head to the West Coast Beer Fest on Saturday to find some
new beers that we can enjoy as the world ends over the next five
months.
On Sunday (on the assumption I will not be one of the 144,000 to
be raptured on the first round), I plan to head to Ironstone
Vineyards for some wine tasting, and then to the Calaveras County
Fair to watch frog jumping.
Now I want to hear from you. What are plans? Are you using the
end of the world as an excuse to throw a party? Are you hiding in
your bunker with a year supply of food? Are you celebrating a major
life milestone that happened to be scheduled on the same day?
Comment or e-mail me at maggiec@lodinews.com, and maybe I'll
post some of the best answers this weekend or Monday.
Hope everyone has a good weekend, Rapture or no Rapture.

Im celebrating the sounds of silence... I do not have to listen to all the noise until the next time the world is about to end...
