City Buzz does in fact still exist, and I have several posts lined up. We are a bit short-staffed right now, so my regular updates have taken a bit of a back seat, but I hope to really revive the blog in the next couple weeks.

It is a somewhat slow week around here, but there are a couple things to maybe mark on the calendar:

TUESDAY: The Lodi City Council will review its budget (and projected deficit) during the shirtsleeve meeting on Tuesday. I plan to be there to give an overview of what the city finances will look like for the next fiscal year, which starts July 1.

WEDNESDAY: The Planning Commission will review five permit requests, including the typical alcohol permits and a request for a new church on Cherokee Lane. To take a look at the full list, check out our meeting listing.

THURSDAY: The city will select the six non-profits who will staff a fireworks booth around July 4. They will do a random lottery at 6 p.m. Thursday. I will blog a list of the non-profits that have put in an application later this week.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
