Who is going to win the taco truck cook-off?
Happy Tuesday!
In today's paper, I wrote a story about Lodi's food trucks
grabbing their spatulas and participating in a taco truck cook-off. We are all pretty excited
about the concept since most of our office has been known to
frequent trucks around town.
At least one more vendor responded since then, saying she would
consider participating in a truck battle royale.
Veronica Gomez, who owns La Picosita at Turner Road and Church
Street, said she will consider competing depending on what time it
is on June 4.
She owns two trucks. During June, she stations one at the corner
and sends one out to the cherry fields to feed workers who are
picking the ripened fruit.
"We usually go out to the fields to take lunch. If we are
available, I don't see why we wouldn't do it. It's a great idea,"
she said.
So who do you think is going to win? Comment with your
predictions.

Okay, so me and my roommate told our out-of-town friends about the event, and it looks like we're bringing a party....for this reason, I would really like to see a follow-up about this when everyone is pinned down and sure.
We've decided that for our nothing goes better with 22 tacos than personal growlers of beer, so this day is also going to be good for Lodi Beer - hooray for local businesses!!

If La Picosita enters I believe they will win for sure. I have tried roughly 8 of the trucks in Lodi at different times and La Picosita is always the best. The one on Lodi Avenue at the Round House is good as well.

Alas, I have not frequented any of our city's mobile eats. My stomach probably thanks me for it.
