Lodi's frequently used catchphrase recently received some national press, but not the good kind.
Apparently, liveable, loveable Lodi is not so loveable to the writers at Advertising Age, who named it one of the worst slogans in the country.
You can go check out the other contenders. Below is my favorite slogans from other cities, in no particular order:
Weed, California: Weed like to welcome you.
Walla, Walla, Washington: The city so nice, they named it twice.
Peculiar, Missouri: "Where the odds are with you."
Bushnell, South Dakota: "It's not the end of the Earth, but you can see it from here."
LaCrosse, Kansas: "Barbed wire capital of the world."
Gas, Kansas: "Don't pass gas, stop and enjoy it."
Timewell, Illinois: "Time spent in Timewell is time well spent."
Linesville, Pennsylvania: "Where the ducks walk on fish."
Hooker, Kansas: "It's a location, not a vocation."
Atlantic City, New Jersey: "Always Turned On"
So since apparently our town slogan is not adequate, I asked members of our newsroom to come up with (mostly super silly) replacements. I also want to see your suggestions for new slogans. Comment or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
