I recently had the pleasure of kicking off a new book review column in Lodi Living. Unlike the traditional book review, however, this one takes the approach of a book club, wherein you can join me in raving or ranting about the chosen title.

Last month we read “The Tenth Circle” by Jodi Picoult. Although I didn't receive any reader submissions, it was still great fun to give my thoughts on a great work of fiction.

This month we are tackling the seriously substantial work of Jonathan Franzen. The selected title is “Freedom,” and is published by MacMillan.

If you'd like to submit your thoughts on the book, please send your name, city of residence and two short paragraphs offering your opinion to me via email (marcl@lodinews.com) or US Mail at 125 N. Church St., Lodi, CA 95240.

Submissions for “Freedom” need to be sent before October 15, 2012.
