Enormous zucchini were mysteriously left in the News-Sentinel break room.

Few things will actually make me do a double-take. Rogue penguins, free doughnuts, Joaquin Phoenix are all great examples.

But today it was gargantuan zucchini. See the accompanying photo as proof. I placed a Danielle Steele novel (not mine) next to the zucchini (also not mine) for size reference.

The vegetables in question appeared in the News-Sentinel break room quite mysteriously.

I have no doubts that these aren't the largest zucchini ever grown, but they are by far the largest I've ever seen.

That got me to thinking: Are there record-breaking fruits and veggies grown in Lodi? Does anyone know? I want to see these things and talk to the growers.

If you are or happen to know a family-sized farmer, put me in touch. Or, just as fun, send in pics of humongous produce and I'll do a follow up post.
