Burglar alarm leads to three arrests
Three men were arrested Thursday after a Lodi resident heard a burglary alarm, followed them to Flag City and then a tire blew out on their car.
Ronnie Brown Jr., 20, Federico Munoz, 20, and Wilfredo Robles Jr., 18, all of Stockton, were arrested on suspicion of attempted residential burglary and conspiracy, said Lodi Police Lt. Steven Price.
Nothing was stolen from the home, but a screen was damaged and a window had been pried open, Price said.
Lodi has seen a rash of such burglaries, and police have dedicated more resources to fighting the problem, as well as asking the public to report suspicious incidents.
That happened Thursday, when an off-duty San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputy heard a house alarm near Lower Sacramento and Turner roads, Price said. The deputy saw two men leaving a backyard, and he called police and followed as the men headed west in a car driven by a third man.
Lodi officers tried to catch up, and the witness lost track of the car near Flag City. Officer Jose Nuno headed south on Interstate 5 to look for the vehicle, and he found that the car had blown a tire and become involved in a non-injury collision. Nuno saw three men walking away from the car, and he arrested all three at gunpoint.
Witnesses identified the three men as those seen in the yard.
Sheriff's deputies then went to the vehicle owner's house to make sure nothing had been stolen.
The vehicle had not been stolen, but the owner was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

Police to show stolen jewelry again
Burglary victims will have another chance to look at jewelry police found during a search of a Lodi home.
Police held a viewing this week, and 49 victims turned out to see the property. More victims have been asking to see the jewelry, so police will open it to the public next Tuesday, said Lodi Police Detective Eric Bradley.
The property will be shown from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the community room at the police station, 215 W. Elm St. Police asked that victims bring their case numbers; those who have misplaced the numbers may obtain them from the records department, which closes at 4 p.m.
Victims with Galt police and San Joaquin County Sheriff's cases may also view the property. Of five people who identified their stolen property at this week's showing, one was a Sheriff's case, Bradley said.
