Ryllis Joines
Secretary
Ryllis Emma Joines, 89, of Lodi, died Nov. 10. She was born on Jan. 8, 1920, in Lodi.
Mrs. Joines attended Garfield, Lincoln and Salem elementary schools and graduated from Lodi High School. She worked for a short time at Woolworth's, then worked in the Waffle Shop for three years. During the war, she worked at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento. She also worked as a secretary at Davis Elementary School. She was a past P.T.A. president of Houston School, past president of the Emblem Club No. 293, past president of the Wives Club and den mother for the Scouts, as well as a member of the United Congregational Christian Church.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Joines, of San Jose; sister, Alberta Cooper, of Sebastopol; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. Joines; daughter, Ryllis Elaine Joines; and a sister, Phillipa Werner.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 5 at United Congregational Church, 701 S. Hutchins St., Lodi.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
