Suspect arrested after hiding in fridge
Lodi police found a suspect hiding in a refrigerator Wednesday after he ran from a moving SUV being pursued by officers.
Jeffery Allen Skarles, 23, was arrested on stolen auto, felony evading, resisting arrest, and hit and run.
Skarles and Jamie Rae Limberatos, 19, fled from Lodi Police detective Nick Welton after Welton spotted them at about 2 p.m. in a stolen Chevy Blazer.
After a short chase, Skarles jumped from the moving SUV, which rolled into a nearby home, causing minor damage to a flower bed. Skarles was later found hiding inside a refrigerator in a garage in the Tara Place neighborhood.
Limberatos was arrested for a local warrant, suspicion of auto theft and resisting arrest.
