Chase ends in crash
A parolee led police on a chase that reached speeds of 100 mph on Highway 99 on Wednesday.
Officer Heather Metcalf saw Kevin James Rodriguez, 28, of Lodi, a parolee-at-large, leave a residence and get into a car.
She followed him onto southbound Highway 99, where he sped up to 100 mph, Lt. Steve Price said.
Rodriguez lost control of the Volkswagen Jetta at the 90-degree Harney Lane offramp, then crashed into a planter and through a chain-link fence, Price said.
The man was captured after allegedly running away from officers.
He was taken to Lodi Memorial Hospital after complaining of leg pain.
Butterfield said he found a drug pipe in the car while searching it.
Rodriguez was wanted on a domestic violence case, Price said.

I can't help but notice you didn't answer GG's question. You obviously stated "I also have first hand knowledge about the case" to lend credibility to your point. GG asked you "Further if your so involved then please also tell us why were all charges dropped?" So put up or shut up.
You really didn't think we were going to let you get away with that did you? "

I find it interesting that you accuse the LPD of misconduct. Kevin Rodriguez CHOSE to run from the cops driving at 100 mph. HE didn't endanger anyone? "

Let's see...On PAROLE, crack pipe in the car, running from the cops, all at the ripe old age of 28. Tells me enough to form my own opinion of what kind of person he has become. Good people just don't find themselves in that situation. "

maybe the officer wanted to spice things up.
and i dont know if the police computers can bring up details on the people they are trying to catch ( as far as mental history, how many times they have been to prison, or a history of naturaly running from cops...), but if they were able to, i am 100% sure they would have reconsidered trailing Kevin Rodriguez, whome ought to be treated for parinoia, and scyophrena(however you spell that). However, look at the elements at play. You have two 2000-3000 pound chunks of steel rocketing down the road at nearly 100MPH risking the life of their occupants and everyone around them. People can and do get killed. Property is damaged, and more good guys are put at risk then bad guys.
For what? Don't they know where he lives? Why not catch him while he's on foot, at home at work... or find the car while its parked and immobilize it then find the suspect.
High speed chases should be the option of last resort, and only in cases where the suspect poses an immediate threat to the public. Otherwise the trade off in "serve and protect" is NOT being served. "

You may want to look at todays story on GPD in the comment section. Nice little note by me to GPD welcoming the new Ofc's.
I'm actually a big LEO supporter. I just don't buy into the hero worship stuff that is so prevailent nowadays. Trust me, it's just a j-o-b. "

You don't know Jack. What makes you think she's the only one here who risks thier life on a daily basis? It may surprise you what GG does for a living. If you only knew where I was typing this... lol!
What she did was HER JOB. Nothing more. If she were to come on here she would tell you the same thing.
The domestic violence wasn't. Violent that is. If your so involved please tell us then why he was arrested in the first place even after Ofc. Metcalf's OWN statement that THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that indicated the mail order bride was being either; held against her will or being physically abused. NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER. The Ofc on scene merely took the mail order bride's WORD at face value. That's called being duped. Further if your so involved then please also tell us why were all charges dropped? Just as I predicted by the way. So the balls in your court, answer away. "

I also have first hand knowledge about the case the Officer Metcalf handled with the Domestic Violence issue with the mail order bride. She did an outstanding job with the situation she had to deal with at the time. But....being we don't know what kind of work you do....If you work...we can not critisize your daily duties. Stop looking for the bad in everything and maybe your outlook on life won't be so negitive all the time!! "

Gosh hold on, let me run into my bosses office. "Chief, Chief, I need a raise..."
Was she doing her job when she bit hook, line, and sinker for the mail order bride's story? "

Besides follow the man until he crashed what exactly did Ofc. Metcalf do that was so awesome? Isn't this the same Ofc. who did such a great job (sarcastic) arresting the man a while back who was "beating" his mail order bride? The one where there was virtually no evidence of abuse, kidnapping or anything else he was charged with. That he was later completely exonerated. "
