Gustave Rauser
Pastor
The Rev. Gustave G. Rauser, 102, formerly of Lodi, died Sept. 26. He was born July 25, 1907, near Mercer, N.D.
Mr. Rauser attended the German Baptist Seminary. Later he graduated from the Moody Bible Institute, and he was ordained as a minister of the Gospel. He served as a pastor in Elk Grove at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, now known as the Elk Grove Baptist Church. He also served as the pastor in Salem, Ore., and later as the pastor of First Baptist Church. He founded and then served as pastor of the Swain Oaks Baptist Church in Stockton, now known as the Quail Lakes Baptist Church. He also went to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and then to Idaho serving churches in those areas. He later retired and returned to Lodi to become visiting pastor of Zion Reformed Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Jean Collier, of Creston, and Alice Bauer, of San Clemente; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Rauser.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Bible Church in Lodi, with Pastor Chris Seibert officiating. A private family committal will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
