Napa knocks out the Flames in girls tennis
The Lodi High girls tennis team was eliminated from the postseason after falling to Napa 7-2 in a Sac-Joaquin Section Division I first-round match on Monday in Napa.
The Lady Flames were swept in six singles matches but did win two of three in doubles play.
While the team is done for the season, Lodi's Anna Adams and Jacque Lord will continue their seasons later this week. The two-time San Joaquin Athletic Association doubles champions will compete in the section individual tournament on Thursday at the In-Shape Sports Club in Stockton. Tokay's Nikola Polcerova, a foreign exchange student from Slovokia, will also be competing as she looks to add to her recent Tri-City Athletic League singles title.
Play begins on Thursday at 9 a.m.
Galt's Christina Phillips and Jana Hackett, the Sierra Valley Conference super doubles champions, will be competing in the Division II tournament on Thursday at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club in Roseville.
