Eugene Brooks
Steel man
Eugene Jessie Ruben Brooks, 91, of Lodi, died Nov. 4. He was born on May 23, 1918, in Dustin, Okla.
Mr. Brooks worked in the oil refinery business as a steel man for 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Elaine Miller, of Valley Springs, and Lois Hurst, of Warren, Mich.; son, Jordan Brooks, of Bakersfield; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Brooks; daughter, Brenda Rinehart; grandson, David Rinehart; two brothers, four sisters and three half-brothers.
A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lodi Funeral Home. Committal will be private. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Aid Society.
Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
