Lodi Garden Club recognized Vern Weigum
At the Lodi Garden Club's Sept. 3 meeting, Program Chairman Cara Oschner introduced Vernon Weigum from Weigum's Nursery. He was generous by furnishing plants and products from his nursery that were given to members if they had the winning drawing ticket. He said there are more organic chemicals for bugs, and he uses more preying mantises and ladybugs for insect control at his nursery. He also said that using a water hose to wash off aphids kills them.
President Alice Reimche and Carol Marvel presented Vernon with a Proclamation naming him as an honorary member of the Lodi Garden Club, and also a Proclamation was read from the city of Lodi recognizing all his outstanding community service over the years.
