AAUW celebrated 50 years
The Lodi Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) celebrated its 50th anniversary with an afternoon tea on Aug. 22 in the fellowship hall at Vinewood Community Church.
It was attended by 74 current and former members and guests. Each table was hosted by a member who also supplied antique table settings, many of which had belonged to their grandmothers. The event was catered by Scooters.
Honored guests were founding members Pat Robison and Virginia Hoskins. Former presidents were also recognized for their contributions over the past 50 years.
The program included piano selections by member Mary Lou Koth. A fashion show which included historical background information was moderated by Leigh Ramsey. The fashion show featured styles from the past 50 years modeled by members and was set to music of the era represented. The Steppin' Out tap dancers performed at intervals during the fashion show as well. A raffle of items donated by members was held to raise funds for the Tech Trek program which AAUW has supported for many years.
The Anniversary Tea Committee was chaired by Linda Sattler and also included Elise Forbes, Janet Bange, Bobbie Landau, Claudia Marson, Ruth Wright, Connie During, Leigh Ramsey, Mary Lou Koth and Carolyn Hanneson.
Table hostesses were Janice Cobb, Claudia Marson, Christie Reinhold, Julie Thompson, Maridel Anagnos, Janet Bange, Carolyn Hanneson, Maria Elena Serna and Linda Sattler.
Suga Moriwaki was the photographer and Sylvia Myorga was in charge of video and audio.
