Woman in wheelchair hit by a car in fair condition
Sharon Boyd is in fair condition at UC-Davis after being hit by a car in her electric wheelchair at the intersection of Ham Lane and Walnut Street on Thursday morning, said Susan Mar-Schwab, hospital spokeswoman.
Boyd, 51, was crossing the street in the crosswalk when an unlicensed, 18-year-old female struck her. An ambulance took her to Lodi Memorial Hospital, and then she was transferred to UC-Davis. Boyd had lacerations on her head and a couple of fractures and other complications, said Carol Farron, Lodi Memorial Hospital spokesman.

Modified bus service begins this weekend
City of Lodi buses will start a modified weekend schedule starting today. Cuts to the bus schedule started Nov. 2, but this is the first weekend with the new hours.
Service on Saturday will be from 7:45 a.m. to 3:09 p.m., and Sunday service will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
On Dec. 16, the council will discuss whether it wants to raise fares in order to keep this schedule on the weekends. If there is no fare hike, the schedule will change to 9:15 a.m. to 3:09 p.m. on Saturday and no service on Sundays.
The cut in hours are a part of reductions the council made in October to deal with a $323,775 shortfall in state funding.
