Elliot Eagles win finale, headed to soccer playoffs
Scott Greene had a goal and an assist and Paul Goossens also scored to lead the Elliot Christian High boys soccer team to a 2-0 victory over visiting Big Valley Christian on Monday afternoon.
Andrew Cotton had the shutout in the net for the Eagles (8-7-4, 6-2-2 Harvest Christian League).
Anthony Galleta, Clayton Silva, Eli Scofield and Kenny Talbert had outstanding defensive efforts.
After going winless last season, the Eagles advanced to the playoffs and will travel to play Sacramento Country Day in a first-round game next Tuesday at 3 p.m.
