A partial solution to our state's problem
For years I have watched the idiots we elected destroy the machine that actually powers our economy.
I have felt helpless as businesses were forced to flee to other states because our government has chosen to make it impossible for them to successfully operate here.
Our tax system, our regulations, the high cost of workmen's compensation and the disdain of our elected representatives have been pushing jobs and companies out of existence or to friendlier places. The present international and national economic disasters have only compounded the problem.
It is because of all of the above that I feel that the only potential solution is helping to elect someone who understands that it is businesses (large and small) that provide jobs, money and prosperity to each of us and that we need to protect and to encourage them do what they do best. Looking over the pool of candidates who have declared themselves, or seem to have a potential chance to become governor, one person is way above the rest.
Meg Whitman, the former CEO of eBay, is the only one to have actually participated in the creation of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of jobs. She understands the importance of balancing the needs of businesses with those of the consumers.
EBay made sure that they created an operation that not only allowed for their own success, but helped other businesses to succeed, while remaining responsible and receptive to every consumer making a purchase. This was an incredible feat if you think about it.
The fact that Meg Whitman accomplished the above is not in dispute. The success of eBay speaks for itself. If you believe that her proven business abilities are the best credentials possible for the job, then we must support her for the office of governor, regardless of what political party you presently belong to. Before it is too late, help her to save the businesses and jobs that are still here. E-mail help@megwhitman.com.

It seems us 25 pounders get the cuts, while the 250 pounders are the ones that don't feel a thing when the knife hits the chopping block. "

E-Bay has 15,000 employees. You figure they maybe have another 30,000 contract slaves that they pay without benefits and maybe another 30,000 professional garage sales entrepreneurs who make a living of sorts off of selling and you still come well short of "hundreds of thousands of jobs" not even to think about "millions".
