Deputies name suspect in fatal Acampo shooting
Investigators are searching for a man accused of gunning down a fellow Galt resident this weekend in Acampo, then firing shots at a party less than two hours later.
Anthony Adell Hubbard, 22, should be considered armed and dangerous, San Joaquin County Sheriff's officials said Monday in a news release.
Hubbard is wanted in connection with the shooting of Adam Mariano Campa, 28, who died at the scene of the late Saturday incident. Campa has also used the last name of Partida.
Deputies were called around 11:30 p.m. on Halloween to the 5800 block of East Jahant Road, where the victim was found on the side of the road. He had been shot several times, and medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Less than two hours later, a Sacramento County Sheriff's deputy was called to a loud party in southwest Galt and was waiting for back-up when he heard shots ring out. Nobody was injured, but the deputy thought he may have been the target, said Sgt. Tim Curran, a spokesman for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
Officers from several law enforcement agencies converged on that scene early Sunday, at Ganzer and Kost roads. A helicopter was called to help search for the suspect, who eluded police.
Investigators did not say what led them to suspect Hubbard in that shooting.
Additionally, investigators were working to determine whether the shootings were connected to an attempted robbery earlier that day in the city of Galt. Nobody was injured in that incident, and further details were not available.
Deputies have not released a motive in the homicide.
Both the suspect and victim lived in Galt and were known to local police, but it was not clear Monday if they knew one another.
The victim most recently spent time in prison for a 2007 drug conviction, according to Sacramento County court records, and was also on probation for burglary and drug convictions.
The suspect, meanwhile, is on probation after pleading guilty in 2006 to making criminal threats, domestic violence and vehicle theft, according to San Joaquin County court records. Last year he pleaded guilty to possessing stolen property.
Hubbard is also on probation for several Sacramento County convictions. He pleaded no contest last November to assault with a deadly weapon, pleaded no contest to drug possession and evading police in May 2008, and had a drug conviction in 2006.
Investigators did not release a detailed description of Hubbard, but provided a photo showing a white man with brown hair. They asked anyone with information on Hubbard's whereabouts to avoid him and instead contact the nearest law enforcement agency.

Amen Brother! Spank a kid a few times and they will remember the consequences of their bad behavior. Take away a few of their "goodies" and they will behave better to get them back.
You rarely or never see a child disciplined in a store for bad behavior. You used to see kids grabbed by the arm, walked outside, and they got a stern lecture about how to behave in public. Not anymore. Society continues to spiral downward.
And with the 200 cable tv channels and the endless number of video games, internet, texting, cell phones, etc the problem is just going to get worse. These mind numbing activities are basically worthless, and babysit kids that should be STUDYING after school. "
