Group investigates reports of haunting
It may have been the night before Halloween, but voices and bumps in the night were reported at an old Lodi office building.
"I didn't know what to expect, but it was a lot more than I expected," said Tom Presler, founder of the Lodi Paranormal and Historic Anomaly Society. "It was not a quiet night."
Presler and a Stockton group with experience in investigating what some think is a haunted building showed up at the old Super Mold Co. structure at 420 N. Sacramento Street, about a block north of Lockeford Street, at about 10 p.m. It took the seven-member crew about 45 minutes to set up their equipment, and they spent the next five hours — yes, until 4 a.m. — checking every nook and cranny.
"I was walking down the hall," Presler said. "It felt like something was right behind me on the right side. But the video cameraman was 12 yards behind me."
Spooky.
Strange voices were heard, he said, and two people experienced being touched. And the two people in the building were not near each other, Presler said.
"I was carrying an audio recorder, and I'm hoping it was picked up around there," Presler said.
The Stockton group set up instruments and sent in teams of two people at a time.
The only problem Friday night was that about 50 people showed up outside the door, thinking they could come in and be part of the investigation, Presler said. That would interfere with the investigation, so Presler took them on a tour of the building before the crew went to work.
There were no actual findings that night. It will take several days to study the evidence before it can be determined if the office building is haunted, or if the activity just cannot be explained, Presler said.
The findings may be revealed at the paranormal society's meeting on Nov. 11 if the work is completed by then. Meetings, open to the public, are held at 7 p.m. each Wednesday at Pizza World, 651 N. Cherokee Lane, Lodi.

Obviously you have a great interest in this subject, if you didn't, you'd not comment so often. I'm wondering if you would enjoy participating in what we actually do. I believe you would make an excellent debunker, and you're perspective is welcomed in this field of study. Come by a meeting sometime, I'd be honored to meet you. "

You will not likely find any evidence that defies conventional explanation. You will however likely pretend that it defies conventional explanation, by ignoring the conventional explanations. "

Edward and the team he brought were top notch, and I look forward to working with CGC again in future Investigations regarding reported Paranormal Activity in and around this community. These guys are professional, honest and the integrity of their work is priority one.
The Paranormal and Historic Anomaly Society welcomes anyone and everyone in the community who has an interest in the Paranormal, Mysteries, Legends and what I like to call "Historic Anomalies."
I'm so proud to have an association with California Ghost Chasers... What a Class Act Team!

As was reported in the follow-up story, I can honestly say that the investigation produced a lot more than what I was expecting. I was hoping for an unexplained sound or perhaps EVP to be heard or recorded during the evening, and that would have been interesting. What the team experienced during the investigation was quite a bit more than I had anticipated.
As with any scientific study, the jury is still out as to if anything can be proven or supported by evidence. All the data that has been recorded is still being analyzed and we don't expect to find "answers" as much as we are hopeful to find segments of data that defy conventional explanation, and thus fall into the category of "paranormal" evidence.
I also would like to thank the many people in the community who came out to the site on Friday evening for their interest, input and for sharing some of their own stories with us, and everyone who has followed this story and commented on this site. "
