Sandhill Cranes Festival comes to Lodi next weekend
Sandhill Cranes have made the Delta their destination after an arduous migration for years and years. Coming from as far away as Siberia, these birds descend upon the Delta by the thousands.
For more than a decade, Lodi has celebrated these birds with their own annual event: The Sandhill Crane Festival.
From Nov. 6 to 8, it will take place at Hutchins Street Square. General admission to events held at Hutchins Street Square are free and open to the public. There will be workshops, art shows, presentations and more.
Tours will be held daily for those interested in viewing Sandhill Cranes and other wildlife. Information about the time and cost of tours can be found on the event's official Web site, www.cranefestival.com, or by calling 800-581-6150.
