27-year-old man shot to death Saturday night in front of Acampo home
A 27-year-old man was shot to death at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in Acampo, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a call of gunshots fired in the 5800 block of East Jahant Road, west of Kennefick Lane, according to a sheriff's report. A second call, this one at 11:41 p.m., reported a body located in the roadway at the same location, according to the report.
"I heard three shots, but there were supposedly more," said Kim Merrill, who was awakened by the gunshots. "You could hear the vibrations off the (storage) building."
Deputies said they found the man lying on the road with several gunshot wounds. Medics arrived minutes later and pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the report.
The victim's identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The shooting took place right in front of Dave Seams' house, Seams said Sunday afternoon, shortly after hosing off the victim's blood on the south side of Jahant Road. Even though the shooting reportedly happened in front of his house, Seams said he slept through the whole thing. After Merrill woke up from the gunshots, she and neighbors gathered around as sheriff's deputies investigated the shooting.
"We saw the body laying," she said. "Then they covered him back up."
Merrill said she heard an unconfirmed rumor that the shooting may have come in the aftermath of a party in the area of Kost Road and Ganzer Lane that drew the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
No other information is available from the San Joaquin Sheriff's Office. The case remains under investigation.

One more thing, I am a decorated American Military Veteran. I suspect you are from a generation of complacent idiots that have NO concept of what defending your country is about. "

You are right, I am white, a republican but I am VERY well educated. You keep trying to turn this into a race thing. I don't give a rats behind what color the president is, I do care very much about what he is doing to America. When America is a 3rd rate country and the government is running everything in your life maybe you will be happy. You "do nothing sheep" make me sick. "

I have NO problem saying what I believe to anyone, face to face is way better than this venue and that includes YOUR face,\. "

As a matter of fact, i wait with my daughter every morning at her bus stop. It is not safe anywhere, I know that. This time it is especially important because she is old enough to read the papers, and actually knew about the murder before I did. She was terrified to stand at the bus stop. She thinks the murderer is still on that street, & that he might hurt her. So... I will stand with her to protect her, and comfort her. "

I apologize I came off a little harsh there. I ment to say don't worry about it, these two obviously knew each other and had some sort of beef. You've got nothing to worry about. And yes, if it was my Daughter you can bet I'd wait with her too. At least the first day. :) "

Tell me why again you will wait with your Daughter? Because I guy got shot in the same spot on Saturday night you think your Daughter isn't safe there monday morning? What kind of screwed up logic is that? Do you realize how many people have died almost every where you've been? WalMarts, parking lots, Stadiums, they're dropping like flies. People die all the time, everywhere. The all don't die in hospitals. What about the double fatal accident on Hwy 12 yesterday, you going to not drive on Hwy 12 anymore?
Of coarse it's GWB's fault. Just ask any liberal. "
