The Flames (20-7, 6-2 SJAA) routed the Bulldogs in their final regular-season match.

Taylor Gums and Ashlyn Daniels had four goals each, Brie Day, Amy Jacoy and Lauren Plunkett each had two and Paige Budiselich and Amy Daneke had one apiece. Jillian Rohrbach had nine saves in the net.

Lodi opens the playoffs next Friday against Davis at Johansen High in Modesto.

Lodi 13, Tracy 5

Mitch Thomas had seven goals and two steals and Zack Piazza scored three times for the Flames (6-0 SJAA), who finished the league season unbeaten.

Mikee Whiteside had five steals, two assists and one goal, Kevin den Hartog recorded three steals, one assist and one goal and Connor Silva had one steal and one goal.

Jack Morris had two steals and an assist, Cameron White had one steal and keeper Andrew Watts had eight saves.

Lodi 6, Tracy 2

In Lodi's season finale, Pori Detloff and Jessica Camper each scored two goals to help the Flames finish in a tie for first place in the San Joaquin Athletic Association with Lincoln.

Nicole Haley and Anna Prada scored one goal apiece for the Flames (5-1 SJAA), who were also helped by Jadin Kidson-Trigg's eight saves in the cage.

Christian Brothers 8, Galt 1


Galt's doubles pair of Alyssa Greenhaw and Olivia Seifert recorded the only win for the Warriors on Thursday as Galt finished its season with a 10-4 mark in the Sierra Valley Conference.

Also in doubles, Warriors Allison Barsetti and Dani Wise fell to Kate Costa and Haley Havelock 6-2, 6-4 and Courtney Wright and Corinne Madison were defeated by Madison McRonald and Clara Johnson 7-5, 5-7 (10-8).

In singles play, Galt's Christina Phillips lost to Ashley Turpen 6-2, 6-2, Jana Hackett fell to Mary Alice Curran 6-2, 6-2, Sarah Houghtaling was defeated by Katie Marshall 6-2, 6-1, Alexis Silva was beat 6-1, 6-0 by Natalie Dryer, Devin Smith lost to Emily Bonsignore 6-3, 6-2 and Ashley Rose lost to Molly Hopcraft 6-4, 6-1.

Matt Holland led the Hawks with two touchdowns on Thursday, scoring on runs of 25 and 10 yards, as Liberty Ranch improved to 7-1 in its inaugural season. Mike Messerole scored on a 70-yard TD run and George Sienze found the end zone on a 35-yard TD run for the Hawks.

Fernando Delasancha and Luis Basulto each had a goal and Ricardo Castillo and Santiago Prieto both had an assist for the Tigers (8-3-1).

Fabian Ordaz and Brent Snyder were solid in the net and John Canepa, Luke Khoury and Emanuel Zabala also had strong games.

Tokay Thunder (Varsity)
Tokay 39, Esparto Spartans 0


Anthony Aguirre led Tokay with two TDs on runs of 21 and 2 yards and the Thunder defense shut out its seventh opponent.

Anthony Zamora had a 26-yard TD run, Michael Ybarra scored ran in from 36 yards out and Gary Norwood rushed for a 5-yard score. Kenny Havens converted 3 PATs. Jason Woods recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD.

Rookies
Tokay 32, Esparto 0


The Thunder (8-1) recorded their fifth shutout of the year as Kyle Fleming and Americo Salazar scored on interception returns. Gavan Fabian scored on a pass from Fleming, who also rushed and ran back a punt for scores.

In other games, Esparto won the JV contest 44-20, Tokay won the Rookies contest 34-0 and the Starts game 28-0.

Big West
Preseason Poll


The Pacific basketball team is picked to finish fifth in the Big West Conference in the 2009-10 preseason media poll released Thursday by the league.

Long Beach State was picked to win the league with 209 points and 17 first-place votes from the 24 person panel. The Tigers ended up with 126 points and one first-place vote.

"I think this year the teams in the Big West are going to really improve," said 22nd year head coach Bob Thomason. "I think there are six teams that could win the league."

The Tigers open the 2009-10 exhibition season with a home game against Cal State Monterey Bay this Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Spanos Center.
