In the 48 hours after 9 a.m. Monday, the Lodi Police Department handled 294 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:
Monday
Man vs. car
10:30 a.m. — A man was beating up a relative's car in the 300 block of East Elm Street.
Threatening while bicycling
2:55 p.m. — A man was making threats while riding his bicycle in front of a relative's West Locust Street home.
Dog bite
3:50 p.m. — A pit bull bit a woman's arm at Lodi Lake, 1101 W. Turner Road.
Drugs
5:33 p.m. — People were doing drugs in the 1000 block of South Crescent Avenue.
Screaming female
5:42 p.m. — A female was yelling for help in the 2500 block of Paradise Drive. Police arrived and found no reason for her to be screaming.
Burglarized shed
6:23 p.m. — Someone burglarized a storage shed in the 200 block of Hilborn Street.
Stabbed in the thumb
6:30 p.m. — A man on a black bicycle stabbed a man in the thumb in the 200 block of Poplar Street.
Suspicious man
6:43 p.m. — A man said police were after him in the 200 block of West Lodi Avenue. The man, who had a "Lodi" tattoo on his forearm, was harassing customers and also hit but didn't break a windshield.
Fire starter
8:28 p.m. — Neighbors got into a dispute after a juvenile tried to start a fire under cypress trees in the 100 block of Arbor Court.
Tuesday
Drunken movie watcher
12:01 a.m. — A drunken man passed out in Lodi Stadium 12, 109 N. School St. He was arrested for public intoxication.
Chased burglary suspects
12:08 a.m. — Two males were trying to break into a car in the 1400 block of Cardinal Street. They ran from police who chased them south along the canal and across Kettleman Lane, where officers caught both of them. Christopher Williams, 19, and Marcos Padilla, 18, were arrested.
'Witch' as an insult
9:51 a.m. — A woman called another woman a witch — not the expletive that rhymes with it — after leaving a civil court appearance at Lodi court, 315 W. Elm St. It wasn't known if the matter was related to the upcoming Halloween holiday.
