Health care and 'U'

Thursday, October 22, 2009 6:18 AM PDT

Here is President Obama's disclaimer on the Health Care Program for Americans, and, a word that will one day be absolute, illegal immigrants.

So for all of you that believe Obama will not give illegal immigrants health care rights, think again.

We now have a "U Visa Program" for illegal immigrants. What is this program for illegal immigrants you ask? This new "U Visa Program" is for illegal immigrants that are victims of abuse. It will give temporary legal status and give illegal immigrants work status with Social Security numbers included. It will give an illegal immigrant power to only make an accusation of abuse to local authorities, which will provide illegal immigrants four years of health care coverage — free of charge — and it will include family members such as spouses, children, unmarried sisters and brothers under 18, mothers, fathers, as well as stepparents and adoptive parents, making them legal immigrants. Why not include neighbors, too. Heck, just include the entire illegal immigrants of America. Why pussyfoot around? As usual, the government has a program that is for good, but like all government run programs, it's full of loopholes.

So no, Obama is not a liar, he's a deceiver. The more people in the pot, the more money he can request for health care and the more he can spent and justify spending. So, no health care will not go to illegal immigrants, only those 10,000 per year allotment of illegal immigrants on the "U Visa Program." " Tjeff: Funny that you should say that "progressives will say anything they think others will believe." That is my point exactly with this letter from Ms. Flores-Alcaraz. And who were the first two fishes she caught? You and Sparky!

Thanks to jeff for doing some research on this "new" visa program. And he did it for free! Well done, jeff! "

" tjeff, that so called info for sell, like what drugs, guns, what? "My boss didnt give me the day for the 5 de Mayo, so now I am being target" Or, the Rx store on Calle Quince sells date rape pills with no prscrip. Dont make me laugh that the info we get is correct. "

" Whether the U-Visa was written in 2007 or 2007 BC. The facts don't change. A circle will be round in 2000 years-unless Obama changes that too. However, my point is that Obama's No-Insurance on illegal immigrants is conveniently omitted. And it is. There are loop holes everywhere. A law passes and we manage to get around it. I have relative that live in TJ came to San Diego and had their babies. Like that? Then they complain that the US does do enough. If you feel that giving illegal immigrants HC then you pay the bill. I have a real problem when SS numbers are given out. I know for a fact they are sold to the highest bidder. "

" And, tjeff, your metaphorical "chicken" has been roosting for quite a long time. Check out the rate increases in your healthcare plan. In 2000 I paid $18.00 for my share of health insurance. Last month I paid $700.00 for the same plan. "

" tjeff: "Just so you know," he said condescendingly, I am an ultra conservative, but with a bit of intelligence to ascertain fact from fiction. This is solely in reference to Ms. Flores-Alcaraz making the bizarre leap from a program that assists aliens who have information to "sell" to the US Government, to a plot by Mr. Obama to give healthcare to illegal aliens. Illegal Aliens already get healthcare. Our democratic society does not deny them healthcare. The only difference is whether they have an official health plan, or just go to the emergency room and receive care at an inflated price.

Does anyone actually think that the "U-Visa" brought up by F-A is a benefit for aliens? No, this was enacted so that the various law enforcement arms of the US Government can obtain information on illegal activities so that they can receive additional funding from the US Government to fight said illegal activities. Justification is the name of the game. "

" 'Most notably, VAWA 2000 eliminates the "extreme hardship" requirement for self-petitioners and allows all self-petitioners to adjust their status in the United States. The act also creates two new nonimmigrant visas for victims of trafficking and for victims of certain serious crimes, including victims of crimes against women (see "Congress Creates New "T" and "U" Visas for Victims of Exploitation"). Individuals granted these visas may subsequently adjust to permanent resident status. The bill passed both houses by enormous margins (371-1 in the House and 95-0 in the Senate), and President Bill Clinton has promised to swiftly sign it.'

" 'Created in 2000 when the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) was reauthorized, the ā€œUā€ visa program was held in abeyance until 2007 when rules for its implementation were adopted.

Records from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services reflect that approximately 4,400 visas were issued this fiscal year.

Before a U visa is approved by the USCIS, the applicant must obtain certification by law enforcement that he or she has cooperated in the arrest and/or prosecution of the alleged abuser without the fear of deportation.

U visas were created to protect some of the most vulnerable foreign nationals, victims of domestic violence and their children.'

" And Ms. Flores-Alvarez did not make a comment on this blog. She wrote an open letter to the editor in which she claimed to possess proof, through her cited website, that Mr. Obama has deceived the public in relation to providing healthcare to illegal aliens. "

" I'm certainly not suggesting that you should be paid to research any of the information contained in the letters to the editor. I'm only suggesting that one should apply reasonable caution when someone writes something that is obviously a regurgitation of the email propaganda that landed in their inbox.

No need for more questions. You certainly meet the exact definition, according to Dictionary.com, of the word "opinion," i.e, "a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty." "

I pulled a paragraph from her link, I commented on her '4 year health care coverage' comment. Then I finished with a personal opinion. Anymore questions? "

" How Ms. Flores-Alcaraz extrapolated the quantity of false information contained in the text of her letter from the website she cites is amazing.

Just looking at the form cited in the article she references indicates this is not a new program - the form is dated 2007, so this program was instituted during a previous administration.

So, Ms. Flores-Alcaraz, who is the liar and deceiver here? Please find another outlet for your alarmist misinformation. "

sparky595 wrote on Oct 22, 2009 7:05 AM:

" And just who qualifies.....

"The applicant must have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse due to a criminal activity in at least one of the following categories: rape, torture, trafficking, incest, domestic violence, sexual assault, abusive sexual contact, prostitution, sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation, hostage situations, peonage, false imprisonment, involuntary servitude, slave trade, kidnapping, abduction, unlawful criminal restraint, blackmail, extortion, manslaughter, murder, felonious assault, witness tampering, obstruction of justice, perjury or attempt, conspiracy, or solicitation to commit any of the above mentioned crimes.'

When a person is here illegally, it is a stretch to provide them with 4 years of health care coverage. However, how do they justify paying for other family members as well?

So, I guess Joe Wilson was right after all. "
