Gunshot victims listed in critical condition
Two people who were shot early Thursday morning just north of Lodi were in critical condition Monday, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting took place at about 12:30 a.m. on the western frontage road off Highway 99, south of Woodbridge Road, sheriff's spokesman Dave Konecny said.
Both victims underwent surgery, one at a local hospital and the other at a Sacramento hospital, for treatment by a specialist, Konecny said.
The Sheriff's Office would not disclose the names, ages or genders of the victims, and the nature of their wounds was not revealed.
The Sheriff's Office e-mailed some sketchy information to the media late Thursday but didn't provide an update until Monday afternoon.
The case remains under investigation.
