The latest news on local athletes who are continuing to play at the college or pro levels.

George Duenas
Sport: Football
High school: Lodi
College: Minot State
The blocking of Duenas on the offensive line helped pave the way for 461 yards of total offense, including 256 yards rushing in a 38-6 win over Dakota State at home on Saturday for the Beavers (3-1, 2-0 Dakota Athletic Conference).

Brittnee Warmerdam
Sport: Soccer
High school: St. Mary's
College: UC Davis
Warmerdam started and played 66 minutes in the Aggies, 2-1, double-overtime loss to St. Mary's of Moraga on Friday. On Sunday, Warmerdam again started and played 78 minutes as UC-Davis (5-4-1) opened Big West conference play with a 2-1 loss to Long Beach State on the road.

Jason Bartlett
Sport: Baseball
High school: St. Mary's
Professional: Tampa Bay Rays
Bartlett finished the season with a team-high batting average of .320, breaking the old club mark of .315 set by outfielder Carl Crawford. Bartlett, an American League All-Star selection this season, also set career bests in nearly every offensive category in 2009 with 245 total bases, 160 hits, 90 runs scored, 29 doubles, seven triples, 14 home runs and 66 runs batted in. He also had personal bests of 54 walks and 30 stolen bases for the Rays, who finished third in the American League East division behind the Yankees and the Red Sox.

Agdeppa, a freshman, played 11 minutes in the Lady Tigers 1-0 win over Long Beach State in the Big West opener for both teams on Thursday.

Matt Davis
Sport: Football
High school: Jim Elliot Christian
College: Azusa Pacific
Davis, a sophomore wide receiver, caught eight passes for 89 yards and one touchdown in the Cougars 31-10 loss to Humboldt State on the road on Saturday. Davis set up his 10-yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter with a 28-yard reception on the previous play for Azusa Pacific (1-5).

College: Azusa Pacific
Gutierrez, a senior linebacker for the Cougars, had one solo tackle in Azusa's 31-10 loss to Humboldt State on Saturday.

Jason Beilstein
Sport: Football
High school: Tokay
College: S.D. School of Mines
Beilstein, a 6-6 senior tight end, caught two passes for 24 yards with a long of 16 in the Hardrockers 42-33 loss to Jamestown College on Saturday. It was the first loss of the season for SDSM (3-1, 2-1, DAC).

Bobby Shepard
Sport: Football
High school: Lodi
College: Fresno State
Shepard, a sophomore special teams long snapper, was on the field for six plays, including two field goals, two point after touchdowns and two punts in the Bulldogs 28-20 loss to 14th-ranked Cincinnati on the road in a non-conference game on Saturday.

Dea Cook
Sport: Soccer
High school: St. Mary's
College: UCLA
Cook started and played 90 minutes in the Lady Bruins 2-0 win over Pepperdine on Friday. UCLA (9-1-1) is ranked fourth in the NCAA this season.

Hallsie Pacheco
Sport: Soccer
High school: Lodi
College: San Jose State
Pacheco, a senior midfielder, started and played all 90 minutes in the Lady Spartans 1-0 win over Hawaii on Friday. She played 71 minutes and recorded the lone San Jose State assist in a double overtime, 1-1 tie with Sacramento State on Sunday for the Spartans (6-4-1).

Amanda Jorgensen
Sport: Water Polo
High school: Lodi
College: Delta
Jorgensen, a freshman goal keeper for the Lady Mustangs who is second in the state junior college statistical rankings with 130 saves this season, had 11 blocks in the cage for Delta in a 16-5 loss to Santa Rosa last week.

Ryan Carleton
Sport: Football
High school: Lodi
College: Delta
Carleton had 13 tackles and one sack in Delta's 29-7 loss to Butte College this past weekend. The 6-0, 235-pound sophomore linebacker is second in the state with 53 tackles through five games.

Kamden Brakel
Sport: Golf
High school: Lodi
College: Hawaii
The junior shot a three-round total 74-79-78—231 to place 39th at the Giustine Memorial Classic last week at Oregon State's Trysting Tree Golf Club. Hawaii placed 10th as a team.

Roz Hall
Sport: Volleyball
High school: Lodi
College: Cosumnes River
The sophomore setter had 21 assists, 10 digs, one kill and one ace for Cosumnes in a 25-14, 25-13, 29-27 loss to Sacramento City College, the state's fifth-ranked team.

Andrew Walker / Steven Kassner
Sport: Football
High school: Lodi
College: Okla. Panhandle State Univ.
Sophomore Steven Kassner had five tackles and an interception and junior Andrew Walker had four tackles in a 38-35 overtime loss to Incarnate World last Saturday.
