Man in painters clothing robs Lodi bank
A man in paint-spattered coveralls robbed a Lodi bank this afternoon, threatening that he had an explosive and a gun, police said.
The man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, and nobody was injured in the incident at Farmers and Merchants Bank, 1020 W. Kettleman Lane.
Surveillance photos showed the man who entered around 12:43 p.m., demanding a teller to place cash in a plastic bag, police said.
He wore dark blue, long-sleeved coveralls with paint spattered on them, over a gray shirt. He wore a black baseball cap with sunglasses and had a thin mustache.
Police believe the thin man is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, white or light-skinned Hispanic, in his late 40s to 50s. He left the bank and ran east.
Anyone with information may contact Lodi Police Detective Eric Bradley at (209) 333-6727. Anonymous callers may contact Lodi-Area Crimestoppers at (209) 333-6771.

How stupid are crooks these day? Money is marked, or has exploding ink packets. Add in hi-tech cameras and these idiot bandits have to know their mug will be on the front page, the 5pm tv news, etc.
I'd bet you'd have a better chance of knocking off a few gas stations. "
