Not all actions are motivated by racism

Saturday, September 19, 2009 6:44 AM PDT

Now I don't know how to do it, but this incessant insistence that any disagreement with President Obama is based on racism must stop.

The New York Times' Maureen Dowd isn't the only one who spews forth this nonsense at nearly every turn when we, as United States citizens have the audacity to stand firm against this administration's march toward socialism. Clearly, the only reason for playing the race card is because they've got nothing left with which to defend Obama's destructive policies.

Of course, I'm not surprised that the national discourse has only gotten more vitriolic insofar as our president's race is concerned. While many had pontificated that there would be less, I knew even as he was inaugurated that the road would become much more difficult to navigate due to the garbage that would be strewn along the way; all one needs to do is review the events of the day during which we ushered in the era of Obama. Race was in the air — and it didn't feel good at all.

But President Obama himself hasn't helped things, either. He's curiously silent in response to these ridiculous claims of racism; just take a look at how he dealt with the Henry Gates debacle. Did he seriously think a little beer party in the rose garden would settle that issue? Yet just last week I viewed a picture of Officer Crowley (the one accused of racism) as he physically assisted the wobbly professor into the backyard of the White House as the president strutted ahead oblivious to the hatred and racism that was obviously occurring just behind him. I'm still waiting for Obama to sincerely apologize for his "stupidly" comment that was the genesis for that entire situation.

Racism will always exist — there's no getting away from it. But not everyone's thoughts, comments and actions regarding this administration are motivated by the color of President Obama's skin. And until Obama himself (not through his minions) stands against this filth will we ever be able to move on. He IS the President of the United States. It's about time he started to behave like one.

You know, I missed this letter entirely.

Still, you have to appreciate the irony inherent in Jerry Kimono's use of the term "curiously silent".

Curiously silent indeed! "

I suspect the President of the United States has better things to do then to dwell on such things. Why do I have the feeling that if he had vigorously addressed racism you would have had an issue with that as well. "

" obama has to denounce it because he is the president. It's all of the other hinchmen out there that do the dirty work and perpetuate the racism claims. Maureen Dowd, Rep. Hank Johnson, others in the democrat party, and the liberal media.

Why is it, do you think that obama is doing 5 news shows ( 1 of them is a Mexican channel) and avoiding Fox news? His problem is he can't go telling 5 state run media channels, that he controls like robots, his vision for changing America, and then go on Fox news and contradict himself when they ask him tough questions.

If he really wanted to get his message out to more people, he would do Fox News because they are the highest rated cable news channel.....by a mile. Why is it that more people watch them than any other? Because they are fed up with every other media sources ignoring the other side of huge issues that face our nation. "

" I don't know what Mr. Kinderman has been smoking, but I have seen at least 2 interviews with Obama where he has stated race isn't the problem and he doesn't agree with those that claim racism is behind everything. Maybe he is just pissed off because Fox News is the only network Obama won't give an interview to! "

" The flood gates of dissatisfaction have opened; and the people complaining have "real" power. Obama ( although he does a good job hiding it ) is freaked by the reaction of mainstream Americans -- u-know us folks out here y'all call "hayseeds" -- consequently, he and his czars have fallen into panic mode and that's what this racism thing is all about. Think about it, did Obama come out right away? No, he waited to see how the public would react. This guy has no where to turn -- It's full speed ahead and it's going to get bumpy! "

Jerome R. Kinderman wrote September 19, 2009:"Now I don't know how to do it, but this incessant insistence that any disagreement with President Obama is based on racism must stop."

He loves to talk the talk, but in actuality, the true fundamentals of free speech simply elude Jerry Kimono. "

" Obama told CBS News that the media was partly to blame.

"The 24-hour news cycle and cable television and blogs and all this — they focus on the most extreme elements on both sides," Obama said. "They can't get enough of conflict. It's catnip to the media right now."

For free catnip, pick up at LNS. Look down people; your feet are on fire. "

" I couldn't agree more, Jerome. Every since Joe Wilson said "you lie", the racism card has been flying. Maureen Dowd wrote in her despicable column that Wilson said "you lie, boy". What? He never said "boy". SHE was trying to turn this into racism.

Carter has to throw in his 2 cents, yet one year ago, on camera at a political convention, Carter called obama "a black boy". Where was Dowd then?

If someone is going to yell "racism", they should be held accountable to prove it, or apologize immediately. The democrats like to use racism because the accused cannot defend themselves to it and the person calling "racism" can just do a drive by and not be held accountable even when there is absolutely no proof.

Show me the proof that Joe Wilson is a racist. Not opinions.....PROOF. "

" I think most of the cadre around Obama who are pulling racism from their race bait box [With the exception of Carter] are doing it with Obamas knowledge or at least tacit approval. As Jerome observed BHO does nothing to stem or disavow the comments. The fact that one observes pure evil [Van Jones] has nothing to do with race. "

" There have been numerous articles relating to the disapproval of former President Carter's opinionated televised statement by President Obama. Kinda' like with Joe Wilson. Joe apologized once and that was enough for him. Obama denounced Carter's statements as not those representing the current issue on healthcare. Double standard? Who knows. Pelosi said it best; Most folks spewing and inciting this garbage are unaware of the mentality of those whose ears it is falling upon nor how they will react to such hatred. Violence against one another as human beings has gone on from the beginning of time. Violence can be fed by two routes: By what someone does or as written here "by what one says" without regard as to whose ears it may fall upon or how it will affect them. Passion is one thing; Inciting hatred is whole 'nother talk show. I can agree to disagree with anyone without the name calling, threats of violence and downright lying to plow my opinion into the other party's mind. Walk a day in another man's shoes. Oh yeah, not possible around this camp. Good looking out LNS and Mr. Kinderman. "
