The Flames claimed their first league win in their first San Joaquin Athletic Association match on Tuesday, outshooting the Trojans at Woodbridge Country Club's Lake Course.

Marissa Hinchman led the way with a 4-over 41 for Lodi (3-1, 1-0 SJAA), Coby Kooyman shot a 45, Danielle Aldrich hit a 53, Sarah Boles carded a 56 and Courtney Schmidt turned in a 57.

Tokay 248, Kimball 360

Kasey Ota turned in a round of 43 to lead the Tigers to victory over Kimball, their new Tri-City Athletic League opponent, at the Old River Golf Course in Tracy on Tuesday.

Maggie Macfarlane followed with a 46 for Tokay (2-0) on the par-36 course, while Katie Woznick hit a 50, Karissa Kiriu carded a 54 and Emily Scroggins shot a 55. Kimball (0-3) was led by Amanda Larson and Lydia Nolen, who both hit 67s.

Nicole Buzo had nine kills, 17 assists and two aces and Brooke Malcolm added eight kills, 17 digs and two aces to lead the Tigers (5-4) to a 25-18, 25-15, 25-20 victory.

Tori Nunez had nine kills and four aces, Enrica Bosco had six kills, Sarah Boron-Trotter had 16 digs, Arianna Brusa recorded 12 assists, Allie Terry had three blocks and three aces, Chelsea Merwin had three digs, Lacy Cowin added two blocks and Amber Ali had two digs.

Tori Schallberger had five aces, two kills, two assists and four digs for the Tigers in the 25-23, 18-25, 15-13 victory. Kate Kininmonth had five kills and 10 digs and Liz Boron-Trotter had two kills and four digs.

Allison Richards and Katiana Parisis each had two kills for the Tigers, who rallied for a 19-25, 25-18, 15-7 victory.

The Warriors defeated the Hawks in the first meeting between the new city rivals on Tuesday at Galt.

In singles, Christina Phillips defeated Ashley Haymore 6-0, 6-0, Jana Hackett beat Cassie Gomez 6-2, 6-0, Sarah Houghtaling defeated Lauren Moore 6-1, 6-2, Alexis Silva knocked off Jennah Schrader 6-2, 6-1, Devin Smith beat Danielle Sanders 6-2, 6-2 and Courtney Wright defeated Allie Rasmussan 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles, Allison Barsetti and Dani Wise beat Linda Villa and Faith Baeten 6-0, 6-1, Corinne Madison and Ashley Rose knocked off Tabitha Daniel and Courtney Buss 6-1, 6-1 and Alyssa Greenhaw and Dani Smith beat Monica Fergoso and Azeret Guitierrez 6-0, 6-1.

UFC Fight Night
Nathan Diaz headlining tonight


Nathan Diaz will be part of a lightweight doubleheader headlining the UFC Fight Night 19 tonight in Oklahoma City. Diaz (10-4, 5-2 UFC), the Ultimate Fighter season five winner, who lives in Stockton but grew up in Lodi, will face Melvin Guillard (22-7-2, 5-3 UFC). Spike will be broadcasting Fight Night 19, starting at 8 p.m.

After winning five straight bouts in 2007 and 08, Diaz has lost both of his fights this year. He lost a split decision to Clay Guida in January and lost by a unanimous decision to Joe Stevenson in June.

99 Speedway


Lodi's Michael Wendt placed third in the Western Late Models first main event last Saturday at Stockton's 99 Speedway. Jeff Belleto won the race. Vito Ranuio won the second WLM main event.

In the ALSC/Street Stocks Division, points leader Jeff Ahl of Lodi place third with Aaron Coonfield, second in points, winning his 10th race of the season.

Lodi's Robbie Knittel was fourth in The Bombers main event.

Golf
Senior NorCal Open


Acampo's Rod Souza shot 3-over and finished tied for 12th in the Senior Northern California Open played at El Macero Country Club and Wildhorse Golf Course in Davis. Souza shot a two-round total 74-73—147.

Acampo's Hugh Scanlon placed seventh in the Super Senior Division (65 and older) after posting a two-round total 83-83—166.
