America doesn't need health insurance reform
America will miss Ted Kennedy in the United States Senate. He worked all his life to get health care to every American.
Why should we have to have health insurance when what we really need is health care? These huge insurance firms only care about the profit. Any debate about health care reform needs to talk about the problems of these huge health insurance firms who lied to Presidents Johnson and Carter when they promised to keep costs under control.
Let's talk about insurance firms who drop people when they get sick. Let's talk about insurance firm bean counters denying claims because its not cost-effective.
I don't want to hear talks about health insurance reform. I want to hear about real health care reform and getting health care to all Americans. Why can't we buy into a public option for all Americans?
If would be fitting to pass health care reform as a tribute to Ted Kennedy and name it the Ted Kennedy Health Care Reform Bill.
It's not the people who come first with these huge insurance firms, it's the profit they can make.
America doesn't need health insurance; America needs health care. Reform health care now and honor Ted Kennedy. Since 2007, the cost of health insurance has gone up 400 percent. In five to 10 years, workers will be told that they either no longer have their health insurance at their work place, or they have less insurance and will pay more. In five or 10 more years, those who like the insurance they have today will not be able to afford it.
What do these insurance firms provide us but increases in our insurance every year? We don't need heath insurance; we need health care.

As for all of those who revel in disparaging the late Senator Kennedy, what are YOUR contributions to society? Have YOU made any real contributions to our society? Has your family sacrificed any of THEIR members? Probably not. And if both of your brothers were shot down, MURDERED, might not you indulge a little too generously in alcohol? Ask yourself, and if the answer is no, consider yourself a saint (and a hypocrite).
-And for those who never forgave Teddy
for being so irresponsible when he drove his car into the water and killed
his lady friend because he decided to indulge a little too generously in alcohol. Are they hypocrites too? "

ttian, yes the Permanente Medical Group is run for profit, Kaiser is not. The doctor`s make up the Medical Group and are seperate from Kaiser. The doctors work out of a pot of money and know their salary before hand, unlike private doctors that see as many patients as possible on a daily basis in order to cover the enormass over head of being in private practice, their malpractice insurance is overwellming.
Kaiser was started by H. J. Kaiser for his workers in SF that worked building liberty ships in WW11. His forcite started the Kaiser orgination, also had a good car named after him, the Henry J. "

The so-called "lion" of the Senate was nothing more than a thug. All one need do is review the way he treated people from his chair as they were subjected to his anger and vitriolic language.
As for healthcare, is it any wonder that for all of the praise now being heaped upon Ted Kennedy in death, he did very little to further his passion while he was alive. And now we're supposed to push through President Obama's idea of reform simply to honor one of this nation's most repulsive and dishonorable men to occupy a Senate seat? How could we have sunk so far? "
sparky595 wrote on Sep 12, 2009 6:29 AM:
The problem is the 12 - 15 million people that are not covered but do want to be. Let's do what we can to cover them, and find ways to reform the current healthcare system to lower costs. I don't want to see the entire system thrown away just so the government can have control over our healthcare.
Obama is on record in past interviews stating that in his perfect world, a govt. run single payer system is what he favors. That is why they will start with a public option. Then it is just a matter of time before everyone will be forced into govt. controlled healthcare. I am tired of them taking over everything. "
