George Thorogood concert was awesome
Thirty years later, the Grape Bowl was filled with rock 'n' rollers again. Any of you Lodians that didn't show up surely missed a performance that was awesome.
The first group kicked it off, then Lee Rocker, formerly of the Stray Cats, had the place rockin' inside out. Yeah, the lead singer still had the stray cat strut and style. He could really play that bass fiddle. It sure brought back memories of how cool that band was when they were all together.
Then Lonesome George came out and just took over the show. He played all of his song sets and a few more. I tell you, George played his fanny off. I don't think there was anyone unsatisfied with his performance.
He did a three-stage encore and he cold have done more even though we ran into the curfew hour. The audience was not a problem, so I know it's all good in the months to come if we have more rock groups play at the Grape Bowl.
I know that the city of Lodi was only getting $30 from each ticket, but I guess some is better than none. The promoters got the biggest chunk, so that is why your ticket was spendy. But it sure was worth every penny.
Now we're ready for Fleetwood Mac, Ten Years After, Molly Hatchet — bring them on.
