Time to thank those who have inspired you
Since the death of "Bo" Katzakian, I have been reflecting on the many special people I have had the privilege to know in Lodi.
We have truly been blessed with many, many wonderful citizens in our town. My life has been enriched by their civic leadership, moral clarity, business acumen, patriotism and friendship.
I hesitate to start naming names, as I am sure I will overlook someone. Many of these names you will know and remember fondly as I do. Here are a few of the people who have blessed my life during the past 42 years in Lodi: Dr. W.G. Fessler, Russ Gearhardt, the Helwig brothers, Robert Hunnell, George Schiedeman, Fred Baybarz, Ben Schaffer, Jim Linn, Joe Hohn, Jim Locke, my neighbor for 35 years — Bob Mullen, Delbert Lowen, Dan Mertz, Harry Schumacher, Jim Neumann, Frank Sasaki Sr., and "Bo."
These are just a few of the special people who have inspired and made my life more complete. Too often we show our appreciation and love for people only once they are gone. If you have a special "Bo," Harry, Robert, Fred, Delbert, Frank or Joe in your life, say "thank you" while you have the chance.
These are the kind of special people who have made our community and country great.
