Obama doesn't really care about health care

Tuesday, July 28, 2009 7:01 AM PDT

Barack Obama promises to give us all health care that costs less while providing more. Pure genius, but how is he ever going to deliver on such a promise?

And therein lies the multi-trillion-dollar question. He says that he can get it done by taxing only the "rich" and by squeezing the inefficiencies out of the system. Sorry, but that's code for taxing anything and everything, while squeezing the heart and soul out of every health care provider.

Obama is a very smart guy, though, and he has to understand by now that this "turkey" can't fly.

I mean, if you want to provide more service, while bringing down costs, then you're going to need more doctors, right? Which means that we're going to need more students in pre-med, also. OK, but what happens when the kids in pre-med figure out that "Obamacare" means more work and less money? That's right, they are going to make other career choices. Oops, I guess "Obamacare" means fewer doctors and less health care, now, doesn't it?

Look, the real problem with "Obamacare" is the total disregard for how human behavior factors into the equation. These guys (Obama and his czars) understand that their plan is a disincentive for the medical profession; but that doesn't matter to them because the "real plan" is to make all professions (besides government that is) equally undesirable.

In other words, if government doesn't own you already, then they'll tax you until they do. C'mon, that can't be the "change" you were "hoping" for.

He came with "hope" and promised change, but all we got was something strange.

" What happened to all those folks crying for "CHANGE"? They are learning that they should have been more specific. Now is the time to contact your elected representatives. Have a serious, non-emotional discussion with them and let them know that if they don't "represent" your interests, rather than playing power games at the office, they won't be in that office come next election. Now... that is change they will believe in. "

" How many people are leaving the US for other countries to attain better health care?? Obama can't get his own people (Democrats) to agree on this since it is a complete 1.3 trillion dollar boondoggle and he knows it. One thousand pages and hardly anyone has even read it, like the 787 billion dollar stimuli, had to be voted on right now to "create over 600,000 shovel ready jobs and jump start the economy." How's that working out so far?? His big shot bank and wall street buddies are doing quite well, even ready to hand out millions of dollars in bonuses. Forget Obamacare and cap and trade, work on getting jobs for millions of unemployed who's benefits are running out. "

The system in Washington is so broke that it can't be fixed. The only way around Washington is to nullify its economics from an external source of funding.

This is why Secret Service gets very upset when people mint Ron Paul solvent coins that are backed by real funding. These have the effect of destroying the government in Washington. "

So the rush has nothing to do with health. It is about controlling US citizens. "

It is not appropriate for the property to make any decisions for their owner.

If you are a people, then you can dictate to your public servants what to do, but if you don't know what I'm talking about, then you are a chattel property US citizen, and you have no right to decide when and how you will receive health care.

The Declaration of Independence was written by people who declared their freedom. It was not written by US citizens. "

Why the big rush to approve Obama's national healthcare program? Why does it take over 1,000 pages to document it? Why should the "rich" pay for it? Why force everyone to participate? Why not do some criticle annalysis of the current system, then begin working to improve it? "

" stantaves: I privately became acquainted with a doctor who was saving lives both in cancer and in AIDS.

Yes, I included AIDS, and I mean it.

She was considered an enemy, not against people, but against a corporation called UNITED STATES. They raided her, seized all of her files and her laboratory equipment, and her money.

She did not have any funds to defend herself, and she did not have a laboratory to defend her own body against cancer.

The criminals in Washington care only to save the sinking vessel UNITED STATES, more than the lives that are lost to keep the ship afloat. "

Uhhh....

People are just starting to figure out, after it is aleady too late.

I was saying these things since before the internet was invented, and that was already too late.

If people are criticizing the elected officials in all three branches of government, they still do not have the key to get out of this trouble, and quite frankly, I don't know if I have the key either. "

" Stella, why do you think it takes years for Canadians to receive a family doctor once requested? It's because not enough people want to be doctors under their system. Plus, when there's a shortage, they have to lower their standards to get students. It's a lose/lose for the people. "

stantaves wrote on Jul 28, 2009 9:42 AM:

" Stella, you're missing the point. Nobody is claiming that people choose medicine for the money. The point is that people will avoid the medical profession if the govt tries to institute their notion of "fairness". Govt is not fair; govt is a big bully disguised as fairness. The fair minded understand as much -- why don't you? "

NONE of them think there system is better than ours. They all say we'd be stupid to have a similar system to theirs. But then again, that's from the standpoint of a patient, not a doctor. Here's a little, fun, hidden camera documentary, of what a Canadian goes through to simply see a doctor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2jijuj1ysw. "

" Mr. Taves, go to one of your doctor friends and ask him if he/she got into the profession for the money. Then open the yellow pages for Vancouver, BC, or Surrey, England, or any other mid-sized city in any other Western country, and find a doctor. Call him/her up and ask the same question. Ask "if nationalized medicine is so terrible for doctors, why did you bother?" You'll get a few answers. (A) doctors don't go to med school for the money. For the amount of time and effort it takes, they'd make a lot more saving several years and just getting an MBA. (B) nationalized medicine is great for patients - all of my patients get preventative care, so I am not dealing with patients who can only afford to see me when they are chronically sick after putting off their care. What is most likely to happen is a toothless shadow of its former self being passed, or flat out rejection. Despite the Democrats being in charge of everything, they lack enough votes amongst themselves to get it through. It's being reported now that they need Republican help. Yeah, that will happen. "
