Zach Phillips
Sport: Baseball
High school: Galt
Professional: Frisco Rough Riders/Texas League Class AA/Texas Rangers affiliate
Phillips, a pitcher, appeared in one game last week against San Antonio and did not figure in the decision. He pitched three innings and allowed two hits and no runs with three walks and three strikeouts. He has an 0.00 earned run average this season.
Jason Bartlett
Sport: Baseball
High school: St. Mary's
Professional: Tampa Bay Rays
Bartlett, the starting shortstop, went 3-for-10 with a run scored and an RBI in three games on the road against Kansas City last week. Bartlett, an American League All-Star selection this summer, is hitting .345 for the Rays.
David Cooper
Sport: Baseball
High school: Tokay
Professional: New Hampshire Fisher Cats/Double AA Eastern League/Toronto Blue Jays affiliate
Cooper, the starting first baseman/designated hitter, went 4-for-16 with five runs batted in and one run scored over a four-game span. Cooper is now batting .256 on the season.
Justin Souza

Professional: Midland Rockhounds Double AA Texas League/Oakland Athletics affiliate
Souza, a starting pitcher, appeared in one game last week. He threw four innings and allowed five runs on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Souza has an 14.25 ERA this season.
Ryan Mattheus

Professional: Colorado Rockies/Colorado Springs Sky Sox/TripleAAA affiliate
Mattheus was placed on the disabled list by the Sky Soxx and is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow.
Lisa Ferrero

Professional: DURAMED Futures Developmental Tour
Ferrero carded rounds of 73-72-72 to finish with a seven over par 217 and tied for 62nd place in the New England Golf Classic at the Wintonbury Hills Golf Course in Bloomfield, Connecticut. She earned $553 over the weekend.
Megan Heine

College: Simpson University
Heine accepted a scholarship to Simpson University and was signed on to be the starting outside hitter for the upcoming 2009-2010 season. Heine spent the last two years playing for Delta College.
Alex Rivers

High school: Tokay
College: Santa Clara
Rivers is currently playing summer college baseball for the Madison Mallards in the Northwoods League is the regular starting pitcher on Friday nights. Rivers has compiled a win-loss record of 1-2 and, in 33 innings pitched, has allowed just 14 runs on 26 hits with 29 strikeouts against 12 walks. He has a 2.73 ERA this season.
