Lodi one victory from title game in state tournament
The Lodi All-Stars moved within one win of the championship game after two victories in the Cal Ripken Central California state tournament for 12 year olds this past weekend in Pismo Beach.
Lodi defeated Five Cities 12-10 on Sunday in a wild game that featured six lead changes. Chance Trammel led Lodi at the plate going 4-for-4 and scoring three times.
Ryan Thompson and Eric Chen each doubled and singled and Matthew Brooksher, David Lerma, Daniel Orellana, Noah Hennecke and Carlos Hinojoza each added a base hit.
Hinojoza, Chen and Thompson all pitched for Lodi.
In Saturday's opener, Thompson tossed a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Lodi routed San Luis Obispo 10-0. Thompson also had three hits and drove in three runs.
Alex Ziemann added two hits and Trammell, Lerma, Hennecke and Matthew Brooksher each had a hit.
Lodi will play Clovis today at 3 p.m. with the winner advancing to the winner's bracket of the state championship game.
