Lodian wins 2009 Toy of the Year Award
News-Sentinel Staff Writer
Lodi resident and inventor Bryan Stamos has been experiencing continued success with his invention, the Glow and Throw UFO.
Creative Child Magazine recently awarded Stamos' invention first place for the 2009 Toy of the Year Award. The UFO was evaluated by 100 moms and educators, according to Stamos.
He described the Glow and Throw UFO as a disc that can be changed into hundreds of colorful flying light shapes and three-dimensional designs. The throwing disc can also be used during the day, and the glow lights can be worn at night.
"It stimulates a child's creativity, and it makes me feel good to win this award," Stamos said.
The sales for the Glow and Throw UFO have been strong, and Stamos is hoping to expand into bigger markets.
"I think the award will help stimulate sales, but it has been doing well. People love them. Kids love them. We have not had one complaint or negative feedback," Stamos said.
The Glow and Throw UFO also recently passed the Standard Consumer Safety Specifications for Toy Safety.
Glow and Throw UFOs are available at Wal-Mart, retail stores and the Internet. For more information, visit www.glowandthrowufo.com.
