Thank you, LMH, for excellent care

Tuesday, June 30, 2009 6:27 AM PDT

I live in Knoxville, Tenn. and was visiting my sister in Stockton when I became ill.

My sister and brother-in-law had read and heard good things about Lodi Memorial Hospital so they took me to the emergency room there; I was subsequently hospitalized.

I wanted to write this letter to the residents of Lodi so that I could express my appreciation for the excellent care I received at Lodi Memorial Hospital and commend your community for supporting such a caring, professional facility. I was fortunate to be in a room with a local resident whose family made me feel at home and gave me the feeling that if I needed anything, their family was right there to help me. It sure was a great feeling being so far from home.

Dr. Kevin Rabey, the emergency room doctor, Dr. Kuljeet Multani and Dr. M.D. Chang, hospitalists, and Dr. Gordon Fahey, surgeon, were competent, professional and attentive. Nurses Julie, Nisa and Navi, along with CPAs Kim, Erika and Nassa, gave me excellent, compassionate care.

What could have been a really unpleasant experience turned out to be an experience I will always appreciate. I am grateful that I landed in a caring community, a community that obviously is proud of who they are and what they have to offer.

Thank you, Lodi Memorial Hospital.

" All the more reason to be a member of Kaiser, no matter where in the world you go, your covered and Kaiser will pick-up the bill. Before moving to Lodi, I lived in Valley Springs and had a gall blader attack, I drove myself to Mark Twain in San Andreas, I showed my Kaiser card and was admitted. It was quite a large bill but Kaiser paid every dime of it. They used to say Good People, Good Medicine, while they have changed with the times, the `ol saying still goes. No damn insurance papers to fill out or get approved, if you need a test or proceedure done, all it takes is your Doctor to type in a request on the computer, it goes directly to where ever the test or proceedure is to be done, they will make an appoitment and call you for the test. NO PAPER WORK, I love it. "

" Yes,they are definitely attentive there. i was there in dec 2006 for what i thought was a heart attack in the er. would up being an anxiety attack. 1st one in my life. But, one of those doctors who you mentioned was not a doctor that my health plan at the time authorized. i got charged 700.00 from him for a 2 minute how are you doing chat. always make sure if you are cooherent enough(or spouse/family is there) that the doctor is under your health plan. it wasnt his fault--but the whole gig/episode cost our family 6000.00 out of pocket.just want people to be informed, because it set us back tremendously financially.
