A picnic-type atmosphere along with food, drinks and entertainment will be featured at the Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation's 24th annual Summer Fest event on July 11.

Summer Fest is the hospital's largest fundraiser of the year and funds are raised to purchase equipment for the hospital. Donna Shaw, director of the Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation, said she hopes this year's event will bring in at least 500 people.

Funds this year will benefit the new south wing construction, the adult day scholarships and cover operations for the community clinic and the Salvation Army. They will also help the hospital to purchase an ultrasound for the emgergency room and treadmills for West Fitness.

Those who attend will enjoy finger foods provided by 27 area restaurants and caterers such as Black Tie Gourmet, Jan's Sweet Treasures, Cecchetti Olive Oil, Scooters and Pietro's. Finger foods provided will include assorted sandwich samples, penne with garlic, basil pesto, Italian sausage and meatballs and marsala chicken. Selected wines to pair with the food will be provided by Mondavi Winery.

The Backside Kickers will provide music for dancing. A free raffle will be held as well as a silent auction that will include prizes such as trips, wine and dinners.

The event will be held on July 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi, 5950 E. Woodbridge Road, Acampo. Tickets are $65 each and include a commemorative wine tray and glass. To purchase tickets, call Donna Shaw at 339-7582, visit the Foundation office or visit www.lmhfoundation.org and go to the "donate now" page.
