Lodi Adopt-A-Child holds golf tournament
Lodi Adopt-A-Child is again holding its Swing for a Child golf tournament on Aug. 31.
This year, the event will be staged at Woodbridge Golf and Country Club. We promise to make this a bigger and better event than last year. The entry fee will be $125 per person. This includes golf, driving range, golf cart, lunch, dinner, on-course beverages and fabulous tee prizes.
Lodi Adopt-A-Child Foundation is dedicated to providing services to economically disadvantaged and abused children. In addition to our traditional Christmas program, we support a Boy Scout troop, provide school clothing for over 100 kids each year, provide assistance in paying for sports registration, and emergency assistance in case of personal tragedy. Last year, we provided Christmas gifts to over 1,200 kids, and every kid that wanted a bike got one. Most of our clients come to us through recommendation of school officials, police officers and personal contact. We do all this with no paid staff; we are a 100 percent volunteer organization.
Won't you set aside one afternoon to help these kids? They need the hand up we offer. This event is not about adults; it is about kids in our town. Please get a foursome together and join us on Aug. 31, and help make a child's dream come true. For more information, contact us at 333-1056 or 327-0494.
