Stockton Arena, the home of the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL and Stockton

Lightning of the arena football league, was ranked as the top minor league indoor sports venue in the country and second most popular overall minor league facility in an online poll conducted by Minor League News.

The poll asked fans across the United States for their top choice among all minor league sports arenas and ballparks in MLN Sports' digital issue titled "SZ."

"We are very proud to call the Stockton Arena our home and this is yet another example of the worthy investment our fine city has made," said Stockton Thunder and Stockton Lightning president Dan Chapman. "The facility is truly state-of-the-art and the arena and team staffs do a terrific job in fulfilling the fan experience."

Stockton Arena, a 9,737-seat venue (hockey) which opened in December of 2005, was the home of the top draw in the ECHL for the fourth consecutive season as the Thunder led the league in attendance with 223,854 fans (average of 6,218) in 2008-09. The Thunder became the first team since 2004-05 to lead the ECHL in attendance for four straight seasons.

Stockton Arena features 24 luxury suites, 400 luxury seats, an exclusive lounge, a state-of-the-art Daktronics videoboard, four full team locker rooms equipped with a training room, steam rooms and saunas, in addition to three separate team and arena office accommodations.
