Elma Thurman
Nurse's aid
Elma Susan Thurman, 51, formerly of Lodi, died April 26. She was born on April 2, 1958, in Marion, Ohio.
Mrs. Thurman was raised in San Andreas, and graduated from Calaveras High School. She resided in various areas and later settled in Lodi, where she worked as a nurse's aid and later the recreational services director at Fairmont Rehabilitation Hospital for many years. She moved to Flora Vista, N.M. a little over a year ago. She was active in her church, served in the youth Sunday school program, and enjoyed helping the elderly in the church and watching television.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Thurman, of Patterson; mother, Edith McCardle, of New Mexico; and brothers, Bill Robinson, of Sacramento, Ben Robinson, of Arkansas, James Robinson, of New Mexico, and Scott Robinson, of San Andreas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Robinson; and brother, Harvey "Bud" Robinson.
A memorial service will be held on at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, Highway 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi. Committal will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park.
