McNerney announces San Joaquin County to get new VA clinic
Congressman Jerry McNerney released a statement today announcing that San Joaquin County will be the new home of an expanded outpatient clinic and nursing home for veterans.
"I'm thrilled to announce that our hard work paid off," McNerney said in the statement. "This is a great day for our region's veterans and for San Joaquin County."
McNerney said the construction and staffing of the new clinic will add 900 new jobs to the region.
The Department of Veterans Affairs had been considering both San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties for the location of the new clinic and nursing home.
The VA department has selected San Joaquin County has the location for the new clinic but has not yet determined a final location within the county.
McNerney, D-Pleasanton, represents Lodi and is in his second term of office.
