From Clinton to Bush to Obama, I'm disappointed in our presidents
Sometimes, I can't help but be disappointed in the American government.
This goes back to Bill Clinton's fling. It was the first time my young mind realized that the president of the United States — the person that is the upstanding representative of our country to the world — lied to the people that put their trust in him.
The position I was taught to respect and honor in school gave me no reason to do so after spitting on my trust.
From Clinton to George W. Bush, I watched and listened more.
Secrets, lots and lots of secrets. Bush Jr. contradicted himself when he said he was trying to make America safer after 9/11 and needed more power to do it, only to allow millions of people into the country, unscreened and undocumented through our borders.
He used fear to get what he wanted and never held up his end of the bargain. He said he'd do "everything" in his power to secure our country. Lies.
He began the bailout program for big business in America, something that never should have been done. W and the GOP spent us into debt, but kept the bailouts moving.
Barack Obama promised change and transformation, but teamed up with the yes-donkeys to continue outrageous spending, and helped send America into trillions worth of debt. And the bailouts? Why not just hand over America's treasury to the private sector? That'll help them, too.
More lies of change.
How is my generation supposed to become the future of this country if these fine role models are our examples?
Companies "too big to fail" continue to be handed checks with endless zeros while honest citizens too small to care about lose their jobs and struggle trying to make ends meet.
This past week I noticed an increase in panhandling everywhere I went — the bank, the coffee shop and even the gas station. But what was the difference? Many of these people seemed as if they had never asked for a handout before.
It was obvious. Typically I'll be approached by a filthy man with ripped clothing that smells of urine, asking for spare change to buy a beer. But lately, those approaching me are at the end of their rope.
Dressed in slacks and a polo shirt, desperation in their eyes, middle-aged men have walked up to me with their pride in their wallet.
"Hey, buddy, I hate asking, but I just lost my job and my cards are maxed out. Do you have any extra so I can fill my tank?" one man asked last Thursday night. "If you don't, I understand, and sorry to bother you," the man withered as he glanced at his blue Toyota Camry.
Later at the coffee house, I noticed a new face behind the counter. "What can I get started for you?" the elderly man asked. I placed my order and inquired if the man, with a name tag that read "Carl," was new to the business. "Oh, yeah," he said with a sigh, "I was supposed to retire in January, but my 401K melted to nothing after last year. So I couldn't afford to settle down."
I offered my apologies when Carl interrupted, "I don't need pity. I worked for every dime for 45 years straight. I'll retire some day."
Carl looked like he was in his late 60s. I can only hope for his sake that "someday" is soon.
How do our leaders — I'm talking senators, congresspeople, governors and even our president — justify handing out billions in taxpayer money to private companies that failed to pay the bills while people like Carl and the man at the gas station, who have worked their tails off in the most honest of ways possible, swallow their pride and start all over?
On the flip side, I'd like to extend a handshake to those of you running successful companies that flourish and achieve great things.
I hope you're never in need of something, because as I've been taught, it's those that cheat and fail the worst that get rewarded.
Political parties aside, I say again, I'm disappointed in the American government.

Wade, your still wet behind the ears !! Your too young to sit around and whine and complain.
Gator,
Perhaps Wade was not taught that he must remain complacent until he reaches a certain age.
Keep up the good work Wade! "

The more recent offering is that poor girl who was murdered at Wesleyan University. Sure, she was Jewish; but that's not why she was killed. The guy who did it had a fixation on her and **he** was Jewish himself from a report I read.

is so bad… Back in the late sixties a close friend of mine packed his tools in a bag
and hitchhiked his way across America repairing Stained glass. He made enough to
fly to England then he worked and learned Glass etching and crystal cutting at Waterford
Crystal for a couple of months. Later when he was in Germany he sent me the most
Foreboding picture I have ever seen, it was the Berlin Wall covered with Graffiti and snow
on a cold gray winters day. When he got home we sat in front to his glass furnace and tipped a few and he told me I’ll never complain about this country again!! He now makes
Custom Marbles and they start at 2500.00 each… So there it is, you can moan and groan
or stand up and do something about it… "

Given the recent developments of the "new" Delta board not having any residents of the Delta area on it as representatives, and given the push for the peripheral canal, the following video should be watched carefully.
Something is definitely up, folks. ;) I can't help but think back to when Kenny Lay wanted to take control of the water....
Senate Bill 787 will change federal jurisdiction over "navigable" water, to give the federal government control over all water everywhere, in municipal reservoirs, and on private lands, and in private wells. This bill ignores state water law authority and the Fifth Amendment.of the U.S. Constitution.

Vance Packard wrote "The Hidden Persuaders" an excellent book, and, even though it was written in 1957, is still timely today.
Some interesting article links below on how advertisers market to us and our children.
The first article below covers subliminal advertising. Strangely enough, subliminal ads - both audio and visual - are not against the law. Couple this with the fact most people go into an alpha brain cycle while watching TV (alpha is where you get hypnotized) and sales are bound to go up, up, up or the "right" politician is (s)elected.

This article is on how advertisers target kids to pester their parents for that "much needed" (insert latest gimmick here).

But don't forget to give this some thought as well....politicians are really nothing more than "brands" that are marketed to the public.
They have the "Obama" brand...

And currently, the generic, "Republican" brand....

One way to give support is to encourage our representative to support Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill (H.R. 1207) because last time I checked, McNerney wasn't on the list.

Mr. Heath asks how his generation is supposed to become the future of this country if these fine role models are his examples. Simple, don't emulate them! What, at your tender age you don't know the difference between right and wrong; simply because these reprobates lead our nation now, you must subscribe to their idea of governing? Learn from them, Wade! Is that really so difficult a concept for anyone to grasp?
You say you're disappointed in the American government? Well, Wade, you ARE part of this government as am I and every other citizen. In spite of its problems, I wouldn't trade it with any other form on the planet. Would you? "
