" Look at it this way lodidian.... "Obama's Book's are selling by the MILLIONS Now, with more books to come, so Becoming President has been at least a "Good Thing" for him! "

" It bothers me that Obama constantly blames " the previous administration" for all the country's problems. There is plenty of blame to go around.
I firmly believe the stimulus and bailouts will create more financial problems than they will solve. National healthcare is an obviously socialistic idea and I believe it will prove to be extremely inefficient. Many of the people he has chosen for cabinet posts are in over their heads. I think he chose people that would not out shine him.
The "Rock Star" status concerns me too. I get the feeling he is beginning to drink his own Kool-Aid---he may not be in touch with reality.
I hope Obama and his programs prove me wrong. "

" I wonder just how, in a capitalist society, President Obama plans to legislate us into prosperity. The very nature of this idea would mean the end of our current economic system. Is it possible that our fears of socialism are not that far-fetched? The only good thing about these first 100 days is that Obama has moved quickly; if he was to hope for any success in taking over the nation without people noticing, he would have had to take a much slower approach. In spite of such a left-leaning federal government, President Obama, Reid and Pelosi are in for a fight. It isn't going to be pretty. "

" You're right Bob, He has taken on the entire problem, instead or making a priority checklist of accomplishing each thing and moving on! You cannot keep juggling 6 oranges, then 7, then 8 before they fall to the floor! 7 Trillion Dollars in debt? Where are these 3 MILLION JOBS he promised? Employment is what America needs! But a closer look even at 3 million jobs EQUALS only 60,000 jobs per state! "

" If Obama has made any mistake, it is taking on too much too soon. His policies are sound, just not very popular with this red-leaning town. "

" Maybe it's not Repubs in general Cog, but just the Bush family specifically: recession in 1990-1992 under GHWB, followed by eight years of prosperity under Clinton. Today we have another recession, started on Junior's watch. Hopefully it will also be followed by eight years of prosperity under Obama. "

Bob Loblaw wrote on Apr 29, 2009 11:59 AM:

" Cogito, what is this prosperity of which you speak? The last prosperity I recall was from 1992-2000. "

Cogito wrote on Apr 29, 2009 8:44 AM:

" President Oduma says there is legislation, on his desk, to make sure we don't ever have an economic downturn like this again. He's using this problem to legislate a government takeover of our economy. How else could he make such a bold statement. Americas days of prosperity are over if this guy gets his way. "
