Author chats with local students through the Web
News-Sentinel Staff Writer
About 20 sixth and seventh graders at St. Anne's School had the chance to talk to Avi, an award-winning children's book author, via a Web cast on Tuesday morning.
Avi said the session with the Lodi students served as a trial for him to connect with readers by using the Web.
If all goes well, he said he will use the technology to converse with more schools about his books, which include "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" and "Nothing But the Truth."
One by one, students stood up and asked questions, receiving answers from the author who appeared on a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. Avi replied to the students from his home 1,200 miles away in Boulder, Co.
