If Rep. Jerry McNerney gets his way, Lodi will get about $40 million in federal stimulus funds.

That includes $1 million to restore the Grape Bowl, $2 million for the Eastside, $1 million for a new interchange on Highway 99 at Harney Lane, millions for local and regional water projects, and millions more to improve Lodi infrastructure.

And that doesn’t count McNerney’s requests for Congress to give millions more to other parts of his distract, including Stockton, Manteca, Tracy, Ripon, and the Livermore and San Ramon valleys.

McNerney said in a prepared statement that Congress could very well not fund every one of his requests or it could fund his projects to a lesser amount.
