Writer rallies behind new President

Thursday, March 19, 2009 6:26 AM PDT

Sen. John McCain is not the president of the United States. Thank God!

Thank God the American people and voters recognized he just doesn't have the brain for the job. Thank God the American people did recognize President Obama as the man who can handle the job. Let's rally behind this brilliant man and support his efforts.

" Commonsense1, As Mark Twain said common sense isnt very common. Shrub is ranked
fifth from the bottom and he is lucky at that, even Carter ranks above him. He spent about
3 trillion on Iraq not counting the 500 million we gave to Iraq for re-construction that to
this day remains unaccounted for. As he was in Baseball I will put up his score as No hits
no runs and way to many errors. People elected Obama because after eight years it was just SOSDD.One last zinger. He had Osama bin Laden cold and refused to let the
Special Forces Take him out in the Tora Bora. dont take my word for it read Jawbreaker
the hunt for bin Laden. "

" Didn't that make you proud to see Obama on Leno last night? What an embarassment. He's out there trying to "hawk" more deficit spending like an info commercial. Puke! "

" I voted for Shrub twice, basically no choice!! If you look back over the past eight years a
Blind man could look back and say what the H*** happened?? A war in Iraq that I supported from the start and now Im more than ticked off the way we wasted 3 years and the lives that were wasted because of total mismanagement and it took General David Petraeus to pull it out of the hole it was in so the lives lost would mean something and not
Be a waste. 8 years and no energy policy, no health care reform, no social security reform
And from my point of view the last three years Shrub was AWOL. I didnt vote for Obama and we dont see eye to eye on some important items, but that being said we have seen more action in sixty days than the whole 8 years from Shrub "

" I hope someone is messing with Larry and using his name as a pen name...

Surely he doesn't have such blind faith in a man who, in just 60 short days, has already vowed to violate our constitution by passing laws that are in direct conflict with this sacred foundation of our country and picked several corrupt cronies to hold positions of public trust... ?!

The only support I'll lend towards Obama will be for his impeachment... give him time, he'll get there. "

" I agree with Leonard. One can disagree with McCain's politics but to question his intelligence is counterfactual and pointless. "

LodiSafeway wrote on Mar 19, 2009 8:24 AM:

" This is a prime example of a poor winner. McCain has been nothing but gracious and magnanimous in defeat; just as our most recent former president who, unlike a few of his predecessors has decided that he'll keep his mouth shut regarding the way that President Obama decides to govern.

Now as it pertains to whether or not Obama is "brilliant" and "the man who can handle the job," the jury is still deliberating these notions. Unlike George W. Bush, many of us will be vocal in our opinion of our new president; but unlike many on the fringes of both political parties, I will be critical but respectful.

Mr. Johnson might want to consider his tone as the next four years continue to unfold. Still, he's got the First Amendment behind him as he wrote his short, but disrespectful letter; and I for one celebrate that he still has the right to speak his mind unfettered by governmental restriction. This is something that I hope never changes; but fear that with the balance of power so skewed to the left, certain voices may soon be silenced. "

Leonard wrote on Mar 19, 2009 5:45 AM:

" Lets lay off the McCain bashing.

Americans need to pull together and this is not the time for sour grapes. "
