Half a dozen local bands will put on a performance Saturday as a fundraiser for the family of a Lodi High School student who died after a car crash.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. at the Lodi Boys and Girls Club, 275 Poplar St. Admission is $5, with all proceeds and any other donations going directly to the family of Stephanie Jones.

The 16-year-old junior was taken off life support on Friday, one week after she was involved in a car crash on Eight Mile Road near Thornton Road.

Funeral services were held Wednesday.

Saturday's benefit show features several bands made up of Lodi High students. The bands included are: A Light in August, Second to Last, The Story So Far, Our Time to Rise, Settle the Score and Reflections.

Among the acceptable items are TVs, computer monitors, VCRs and toner and ink cartridges. Furniture, vacuum cleaners, appliances and general garbage will not be accepted.

For more information, call Marengo Ranch Elementary at 745-5470.
